Con one con all for our first annual MyDMPL Con! Bring your friends and family for this fantastic one-day event! Travel to Hogwarts to make wands and meet wizarding animals from the Blank Park Zoo! Take pictures with daring luchadores, and meet your favorite characters from Misfit Heroes and Little Princess Parties! Create your own manga story, and plant a baby Groot to take home. There will be costume contests for three grand prizes – and best off all, all the activities are free!

Harry Potter Escape

A dark curse has been cast over the school, and we need a time-turner to go back in time and stop it. But, we're locked in an office!
Groups of up to 5 have 30 minutes to find clues and solve puzzles to escape. Space limited. 6:00-6:30 or 6:45-7:15 PM time slots are available. Pre-registration is required. Paint the Sidewalk

Get into the spirit of the Drake Relays and help us replicate their famous street painting event! Every year, students at Drake University paint the street (and each other) in an afternoon event leading up to the world-famous Relays.

We’ll be transforming the North Side Library’s sidewalk with your fun designs! We’ll provide supplies, and you’ll bring the ideas and creativity. Consider coming in painting clothes just in case this gets a little messy!

Arlington and the Tomb of the Unknowns Presentation by Thomas W. Tudor

Des Moines native Tom Tudor served as sentinel and relief commander at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in 1969 and 1970. That tomb, located at Arlington National Cemetery, has been guarded by the U.S. Third Infantry Regiment for almost 70 years. Tudor has spent more than 30 years discussing the traditions and responsibilities of those who guard the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Come see his comprehensive presentation and learn about this fascinating part of American history.
